Concert Band is a performing ensemble for the developing band student. Students in the Concert Band will study, practice, and perform a wide variety of musical literature, with an emphasis on developing the musical skills necessary for promotion to the Symphonic Band. This includes tone production, technical facility, and musical notation reading skills. The Concert Band performs throughout the year at school and festival events. Symphonic Band is a high quality-performing ensemble designed for the highly skilled musician. Students in the Symphonic Band will study, practice and perform a wide variety of wind band literature, with an emphasis on a high artistic level of performance. As a flagship ensemble of the LHS Music Program, the Symphonic Band performs frequently throughout the year at school, community and festival events.
