Concert Band is a performing ensemble for the developing band student. Students in the Concert Band study, practice, and perform a wide variety of musical literature. This includes tone production, technical facility, and musical notation reading skills. The Concert Band performs throughout the year at school and festival events.
Symphonic Band Honors is a high quality-performing ensemble designed for experienced musicians who would like to improve and maximize their musical capabilities. Students in the Symphonic Band study, practice and perform a wide variety of wind band literature, with an emphasis on a high artistic level of performance. The Symphonic Band performs frequently throughout the year at school and festival events.
Chamber Winds Honors is the premier instrumental ensemble at Livermore High School. This advanced group is expected to perform at a standard comparable to the finest high school bands in the state and to participate in adjudicated events evaluated by distinguished, internationally recognized music educators and adjudicators. As members, students are expected to demonstrate exceptional levels of technical and expressive musicianship, pursue performances of the highest artistic caliber, and serve as leaders and role models for younger and less experienced members of the music program. Membership in Honors Chamber Winds represents a commitment to musical excellence, personal responsibility, professionalism, and the continued success of the entire instrumental music program.
